I have a 8GB ipod touch, and i recently tried to jailbreak it on firmware 1.1.4 with ZiPhone 3.0 (for mac).

I started it up, clicked jailbreak and then itunes came up with a "iTunes has detected an ipod in recovery mode... etc" message. So i quit itunes, which led to ZiPhone quitting on me, with a half jailbroken iPod. So I tried running ZiPhone again, and it said to wait for 1 min 10 seconds, which i did.

And after that time the ipod just stayed at a black screen with this written on it in white letters:

Singleuser boot -- fsck not done
    Root device is mounted read-only

If you want to make modifications to files:
    /sbin/fsck -fy
    /sbin/mount -uw /

If you wish to boot the system:
    exit

    Apr 15 19:50:57 launchd[15]: can't exec
/bin/sh for single user: No such file or
    directory

And it just stays there, no activity when i run ZiPhone, when i start iTunes or anything. If I restart it by holding down both buttons it restarts, shows a bunch of scrolling white text and then goes back to the message above.

The text seems like the kind you get it the Terminal in OSX, just white on black, and if i could type on the ipod it would be insanely simple to fix (just type exit and it would boot the ipod OS).

But I can't type, it doesnt show up in recovery mode and plugging it in and out doesnt do anything.

    PLEASE HELP!

Try starting it in DFU mode.

Or use ZiPhone to put the iPod into DFU.

    Then you can restore.

    Then re-jailbreak with ziPhone 2.6b or iLiberty+

To manually put into DFU, since Ziphone most likely will not do it at that state:

Plug your iPod in, and hold power + home.
Wait for iPod to turn off.
When iPod powers off, release the power button but continue to hold the home button.
Hold Home button for about 15 seconds, until iTunes recognises an iPod in recovery mode.
    Restore + rejailbreak.

    No no no!
Get it into restore mode, then click "Normal mode" in ZiPhone advanced options. Your iPod will be back to normal, no restore needed.
