I completely agree that tupac was the sh*t and lil wayne is a joke (I do like a few of 50's older songs though), but this should probably be discussed in the hip-hop/rap thread.

Like you said, this is your opinion. A lot of people who idolize classic rappers will agree with you that Lil Wayne, 50 Cent and Gucci Mane aren't real rappers. But others do consider them rappers and they do enjoy their music. You cannot say that Tupac, Biggie and Big L are the true rappers, because, like you said, it's just your opinion.

what i mean in this thread, is that hating people (like on youtube and facebook) rate rap by the new rappers, but the new rappers (jay z, lil wayne, lil jon and 50 and amny many more) only sing about stupid things, if old rappers were still here, they wont hate.

Well, just think of the teenagers of today. They go clubbing and partying and whatnot, so they want to listen to songs with good beats. As much as you may disagree, songs from the 90s don't have great beats. I mean, some do but they're not great. If you go to someone's party, they won't be playing Tupac or Biggie, they will be playing Lil Wayne or Gucci. As much as their songs aren't lyrically strong, they have good beats. They have beats that you can dance to and jam to. I'm sorry, but I don't think people want to be listening about Tupac's young life or his mother at a party.

Quite a lot of todays rappers are also good. Lupe Fiasco, Chamillionaire, Eminem and Mos Def to name a few.

yes, but "raters/haters" listen ONCE to a bad rapper and assume that ALL rap is like that.
