I work in a noisy place, I need headphones that cup the ear, but more
importantly, I need a pause on the cord. People are always asking me
questions or telling me to do things, I need a way to _quickly_ pause to answer,
yes sir!!!, or over there miss.
I've looked and looked, does anyone make them?
My undying love to anyone who answers in the affirmative.

Thanks for having a great forum

I don't know about the headphones, but to pause, just take the cord out of the iPod, and it will pause.

Hi, I thought of that, but I am afraid of wear and tear on the headphone
connector or the internal connector to the Touch. I've had two sets of
headphones go from stereo to one ear only, I have to pause about 18
    times a day.
    Thanks for your reply.

Hi, they are the new in-ear type, I need more 'soundproofing'.

    Thanks,

Hey there. Welcome to the forums!

I've searched around many places, and haven't found any headphones that have this feature.

I found this pair of headphones that has a play/pause button but it has an intergrated mp3 player in it: http://reviews.cnet.com/headphones/koss-tugo/4505-7877_7-32556470.html?tag=mncol;lst

But for over-the-ear headphones without a pause button, I'd definitely recommend BOSE. They have top notch soundproofing headphones if you're willing to pay top dollar though - they're pricy.

Can't you just double tap the home button and quickly press the pause button?

You can use use whatever headphones you like with these. Press the button once to pause/play, twice to skip to next track, and 3 times to skip to previous track. At the same time it has a microphone built into it so you could use some voice recording apps to make audio notes, etc.

Hello everyone, thanks for all the replies, it nice to see some many
    helpful people.

My best bet seems to be the adapter that Spd2Last mentioned.

    Thanks again,
