The sound depends on the fit. In order to actually get the actual intended sound, push them towards your ear while they are in (they are build for people with average-large ears apparently). They are decent (the old ones, model before this, were complete crap).

I'm pretty sure I have average/large ears, considering that I am 6'4", (I'm a big guy, not fat, just big) Also, how recent are you talking? Because I'm talking about the ones that came with my iPod Touch 2g.

Those are the ones... Apple gets their drivers from Sennheiser apparently on the newer models. It's really lacking in the bass departement, and the highs aren't quite there, but they aren't all bad (about as many good as bad).

The biggest problem I have with them is no noise isolation whatsoever, so to hear the music, you need to turn them up really loud which distorts the sound.

The worst I have used are those ones some hotels have in their exercise rooms in little plastic bags. the free ones.

Apple ones where OK, but they didn't really go into my ear, so i had to play music really loud...

    TiTans are better.

I got the Beats by Dr. Dre Studio HD and they are hella expensive ($300). The only reason I got it was that I got a discount from a friend that works at Best Buy.
I don't use them that often, but I recommend the company, Sennheiser, as they make excellent products.

Yeah, I'm wondering about the Westones though, I get the feeling the Turbines might have more bass but also feel the Westones would have better SQ overall for the OP.

Haven't heard much about Westone. Sorry, I can't really help you out there :(

On my front it's fine, just don't know which would be better for the OP, couldn't be happier with my Sennheiser IE8s, the next step for me is either customs or HD800s and thats a long ways away. I've heard the HD800s once, it was so incredibly glorious, never heard anything more precise and perfect in my short life.

Don't get the IE8s now, wait for the IE80s.
