Figures. A week after my warranty expires, I start having a weird problem.

The iPod Touch has a feature where if your headphones come unplugged, it pauses so that you don't miss anything. It knows they are unplugged because it is no longer conducting electricity through the jack.
Now it's old and weak, so occasionally it will accidentally stop sending power through the jack. It's only for about a half a second, but long enough to autopause. So about 5-10 times per song I have to take out my iPod and press play.

    Any ideas?

You could use an alternative music player application. dTunes might work.

The pins that connect to the earphones most likely aren't recognizing that the earphone is being pulled out. That's similar to my problem with the left earphone cutting out.
