I have a first generation iPod Touch and it turns out the headphone jack is somewhat broken. I only hear one channel unless I hold the plug in hard and then I hear both channels. It's still in warranty, and there's no water damage. Will Apple fix it?

Also, since the first generation iPod Touch isn't made any more, any chance they'd replace it with a 2g?

If it's still in warranty, no water damage, and NOT jailbroken, then of course apple will replace it. Are you positive that it is the headphone jack though? Try sticking in a second pair of headphones to see if it is maybe just those headphones.

However, chances of getting a 2G are slim. They will more than likely give you a refurbed 1G. Hope it all works out for you!

Yeah, I've tried more headphones, still no luck. If it had been jailbroken and restored since, could they find out?

No. As long as you fully restore it, they will never know.
