    Well this morning i was casually watching an episode of Las Vegas on my xbox (DVD) when all of a sudden, it switches off

    Hmm, so first i suspect power out, then i realize the TV is still on and wait a second. my xbox has 3 flashing red lights

    Of course i now realize that my beautiful, sexy, powerful xbox which i had saved up so much money for had decided to die

    MS fixes it for free, but it takes a month.

    Don't do it yourself, because usually it doesn't fully fix it. It generally involves the soldering breaking (due to a major design flaw), and all the towel fixes "work" because they make the metal swell and make temporary contact again. It's no fix, though. Send it to Microsoft.

    Edit: I've had it twice.

    yeah, this is why I prefer my PS3 more, but that's just my opinion, I have all 3 consoles

    Just send it into Microsoft, it's free and the package is prepaid so no fees at all. I got RROD for the first time last summer and that took about 15 days to get it back, this summer I got the RROD again and it took about 11 or 12 days to get it back.
