has this happened to anyone else????

    in itunes it says my 8gb ipod touch is now only 5.20gb's

    and it has been decreasing slowly

    has anything else like this happened to anyone?

    i was also wondering do you think apple will give me a new ipod or something if i call support

    This is gonna be a REALLY stupid question but....are you putting apps/music/photos/videos onto it and it's going down?

    Your probably buying apps and not realizing that they also take up space

    And having emails takes room, saving notes and stuff

    Dont touch your ipod for a while and if it goes down call apple

    no im not talking bout that i have 438mb free but it says the capacity is 5.2gb and randomly every once in a while it goes down

    The capacity is always lower than the model size. For example i have a 16GB and it says the capacity is 14.86GB however it never goes further down than that. I do have one question though : are you jailbroken/do you have 2.1 beta?

    Corrupted Data. Syncs that failed or got cancelled while syncing can cause this. Restore to fix it.

    i have 2.0 pwned and it decreases from time to time
    ------------------double post merged------------------
    i just restored yesterday and noticed it went down again to 5.20gb

    I'm almost positive a pwned 2.0 will have less capacity than an un-jailbroken 2.0, however i can't see why it's decreasing, you may want to restore/get a replacement.

    Have you tried to fully restore it (DFU...)?
