    Hello:

Has anyone replaced the ipod touch battery successfully yourselves?

My 32GB 1st. gen needs a replacement but amazon reviews of tool kits are terrible.

Most people say the plastic tools break within 3 seconds of using them and other say they damage the case.

    Thanks

and yes the tools break, i used a razor blade but some damage will be left!
It was fairly easy u just need a soldering pen!

Mmmmmm I see they are the same tools amazon sells.

So there is nothing better that leaves no damage?

There's always gonna be damage. It's not meant to be opened up easily, so you'll have to pry it open and damage it.

Mmmmmmm I wonder if my local ipod specialist store can do it without damage.

    They charge $45 though.

That's what I thought as well.

I don't think ipods are manufactured to be damaged when replacing batteries.
