Has anyone bought this blu-ray drive for Mac yet?

    Bit of a long shot question but has anyone bought the Amex Digital Blu-Ray drive for Mac? I might decide to buy it

    I would wait and see what happens with blu-ray before you do anything

    Hmm yeah. To be honest, it's only $289 for a the player, and only $389 for the recorder. Still, I don't think I would get the recorder at this stage as write speed is only 2x for single layer, and x1 for dual layer, which is horrifyingly slow. Still, I like blu-ray movies and it's a cheaper alternative that buying a PS3 in the UK.

    As one of the few people who got an early blu-ray recorder for a mac, I can tell you it's not ready-for-primetime!

    It only works as a BIG (super BIG) dvd data disk... no movie playing.

    Save your money!

    Looks like a pimped superdrive for the Macbook Air; I like it

    apple might implement bluray into the new imacs at macworld
    that's my guess
    i heard that they were gonna do that last year
