Yes, there is a new processor. It's overall a slower processor, but it runs at the same speed as the old one.

They're both clocked at 412 Mhz.

Maybe they did that because it's cheaper and the same speed?

    haha... mom...

i was wondering about the hardware differences between the 2G models...
    not the first generation...

differences between ne 8gig 16gig and the 32gig...
or is the storage space the only difference?

because it makes it harder for the devteam and other teams to hack into it without making a whole new approach to get into it so apple semi succeeded but a jailbreak is almost here so yeah it was a good idea while it lasted

Didn't they introduce a smaller CPU to improve battery life?

yeah thats what they said but if that was the only reason why they changed it jailbreaking would probably already be achieved on the 2g or maybe not just it wouldnt have been this hard

Guys the 2G CPU is older than 1G this is bcoz there is better encreption in the older one that the new one so it is hard to hack soon Apple is going to come up with better encreption for the 1G to stop cracked apps. Trust me it is hard to hack the new sleek 2G iPod Touch...........Really Hard........................................Hope it comes out soon but minimum 3 months

I have heard the 2G CPU is slower but is there any evidence? I have also heard the new CPU has everything encrypted.
