ok first off i'm sorry if this has been addressed, all my search attempts didn't bring up nothing.

so 1st off a bit ago my ipod wouldn't go into landscape mode while using safari. other apps like textfree and things would still be fine so i just didn't pay no mind. then after dealing with that awhile i updated to 3.0 and then the slider to unlock my ipod became kinda unresponsive taking a few tried to even move it. and lastly just 2 days ago my ipod stops even responding to my touches about 95% of the time all together whether i was on the home screen or it was locked and now when i can unlock it it'll open randoms apps and click random things all over the place.
i've restored it twice to see if it would help and about all it did was make it slightly more responsive to me unlocking it. but nothing else. so any suggestions?

Something similar happened to my iPhone 3GS, but a restore fixed it. I would contact Apple.

i was thinking about downgrading to a lower firmware maybe like 2.1 or something. does anyone think that'd do anything?

    You can't downgrade a 2G's firmware lower than 2.1.1.
