Lately, i've been trying to get my ipod to boot verbosely. i even installed hackint0sh in order to do it from mac. that didn't work, it just %$#%!%@&(%ed my iPod. so now im trying to downgrae to 2.2.1 and do it from there. How would i do that though? i can't figure it out from any internetz.

Download the version off the interwebz

and save to a location u can remember. Put ur iPod into DFU mode and plug it into ur computer. Open iTunes and you should get a message saying "iTunes has found a devise in DFU mode..." or something along those lines. Click cancel (just don't click restore, whatever the other option is). Then hold option and click restore. You should have a finder window pop up, select your firmware (.ipsw) and open it. It should restore you to that firmware.

P.S. If you cannot download the firmware as an .ipsw and instead it is plain text or .zip, download a different browser temporarily... it will take a little longer but it will work. I used Opera, FireFox works too. I really hope this helped!!!
