    Cydia existed only a few months prior to the App_Store if memory serves me correctly.
    Installer on the other hand existed on my First Generation iTouch, way before Cydia + iOS App_Store.

    Granted Cydia become the successor but Installer was mine and possibly many others ignition to Jailbreak thiere devices and even develop for Installer.
    The good times when jail breaking was not a one click process and bricking yourself in fear of bricking your device ;')
