Is it possible to hack the settings app to make it so that the brightness bar doesnt do anything?

So, you would go to the Apple Store, and say that the backlight is dead or something...

and they'll definitely plug in your ipod to a computer, reload the firmware, and you'll have your same ipod back.
unless you somehow kill it from allowing the usb to operate correctly.

idea? search your ipod's files for "usb" and delete all of those files. maybe that'll work too?

Whoa! I didn't fully read the first post before I posted my reply. It has been deleted. I will not help you commit fraud. Attempting to defraud an Apple store is a crime. This forum will not help you in your criminal endeavors.
