    All

I am new with the Itouch. We bought one for our son 3 months ago and he was irresponsible with it, so I have taken it over from him. But he has a passcode. I am not sure he remembers it and it really doesn't help me this morning anyway since he is at school and I can't contact him. I plugged it in this morning here in my office and discovered this. I would like to see if there is an easy way for me to hack the password so i can begin to become familiar with it today without having to wait to ask him the passcode this afternoon.

    Can anyone help me?

    thx

    Scott

    I would ask first

Then if he doesn't know, restore it and then before you return it to him put on some parental restrictions through settings.

Why wouldn't he know the password?
(Also: It's iPod Touch, not Itouch)

    Hm.
    Interesting.
You're probably getting a "Can't connect to -insertyoursonsnamehere- iPod. Because it has a passcode."
If that's the case you have to put it in recovery mode and restore it.

If you have a 2G (re)jailbreak with redsn0w and it removes the passcode.
