hey ..ive converted a movie to a h264 mp4 format and tried to drag to my ipod and i get a messege "the "name of the movie" was not copied because it cannot be played on this ipod"...
    ipod should play a h264 mp4 format...no?

i used mpeg4 format before and it worked but if the movie is less than 25fps then the sound and image are'nt synced right and after a few minutes they dont match...

It has to be encoded in an iPod-specific AVC format, IIRC... and under 640x480 in size, with LC-AAC encoding for the sound. I suggest taking the original movie file and using iTunes to convert it.

h264 mp4s do play on the 2G Touch - I regularly watch movies encoded in that codec

try converting with Videora or XviD4PSP

Technically, it doesn't have to be anywhere near 640 x 480. It can be 704 x 400 or even 720 x 400. As long as they equal to a certain amount of Pixels I think.

But as long as the video is in a resolution the iPod Touch or iPhone can play and formatted correctly, you'll be fine. Check my signature for Apps that can do the job perfectly.

well i didnt tried them yet but ive found how to convert the videos to mpeg4 without the sound sync problem...i just forced the out put file to be at 25fps even if it was on 23 fps originally and it works fine now
