I apologize if this idea has been mentioned before...

With the addition of a mic would it be possible to create a rudimentary guitar tuner? +/- one cent accuracy would be sufficient, (although if it was more accurate that would be better.)

Maybe start off with a standard guitar tuning adding more with time.

    What do you guys think?

yes I've actually seen that one before, however it's not exactly what I was talking about. The guitar tuner in installer is more of an... electronic pitch pipe, or tone generator used to match the pitch of the selected note with the pitch of the plucked string.

There is also one on installer that uses the iPhone's mic or iTouch's external mic to tune it. It's in very early beta, though.

Yes...Latin is a very silly language...veni vidi vici
Funiculus uses the internal mic, so it won't work on touch, but if you have an external mic, you may can get it to work...

I can confirm that Funiculus Guitar tuner works with my iPod touch and Jandervaulks microphone. It gave a warning that it was only for iPhones, but it seems to work. Mind you, my guitar is not here, but it picks up my whistleing.

    Thanks for the feedback...
so it apparently works on IPTs with an external mic...there is a youtube video from the people at TouchMods.net that shows it working with their mic.
