[Guide] How to Install OpenIboot and Run Linux

    1. To Install OpenIboot...

First of all, you need to be at a Ubuntu 7.10~8.10 machine.
Download the .tar package of openiboot (here)
extract it on home folder then...
Open up terminal and enter in the home folder and then at the folder that u've put the extracted package then enter the following commands:
sudo su (it will ask you ur root password)
    now you are root
Put ur device on restore mode

    Now Enter the following comands:

    ./loadibec openiboot-2g.img3
    - Or -3g, -ipod, depending on your platform.
[OpenIboot screen will show at the device, select the Iboot console on it with the power button and enter it with home button]
    now...
    ./oibc
[terminal will show the same as device]
    nor_read 0x09000000 0x0 1048576
    wait for device confirmation...
    ~norbackup.dump:1048576
    wait for device confirmation...
    install
    wait for device to flash...
    now...
    reboot
[ur device will reboot, all done openiboot installed!]

Now... to Run Linux on the device...

Turn on the device, select the openiboot console with the power button and press home button to enter it.

    Now...

Open up terminal and enter in the home folder and then at the folder that u've put the extracted package (if you aren't there already!) then enter the following commands:
sudo su (if you aren't root already!) (it will ask you ur root password)
    now you are root...

Enter the following commands at terminal:

    ./oibc
terminal will show the same as the device!
    !zImage
    wait for device confirmation...
    kernel
    wait for device confirmation...
    !rootfs.arm.ext2.gz
    wait for device confirmation...
    ramdisk 3588
    wait for device confirmation...
    boot "console=tty console=ttyUSB root=/dev/ram0 rw"
    wait for device confirmation...
    sudo ./linux

now you should be asked for a login, enter root on terminal and press enter then enter this command:

    sh 2>&1 > /dev/tty0
now you can have fun w/ linux on ur device ;D

obs.: if you don't know how to turn off ur device, you can at any moment trow it in the wall, or, you can just turn it off, like putting it on dfu mode (hold home and power button till it turns off, now you can release the buttons and turn it on normally ;D

    that's all guys ;*
