ok every1 is gettin errors and stuff...and so was i ...so i decided to make this ::

    firmwares located:

    C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPod Software Updates
    Windows Vista
    C:\Documents and Settings\<USERNAME>\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPod Software Updates
    Windows XP

    1. download quickpwn (better link) QUICKPWNWINDOWS
    2. open it
    3. follow the instructions up till ensure ur device is connected with usb (after the select installer, cydia, bootlogo)
    4. MOST IMPORTANT ....you might think that all u do is click and leave it alone to jailbreak BUT U ACTULLY HAVE TO FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS THAT IS SAYS (hold home button for # seconds....hold home and power........) JUST KEEP FOLLOWING THAT ...untill ur ipod kind of turns white and it begins to jailbreak....
    5. after it will say ur ipod will restart and let it restart....
    6. if u get the due to a wrong connection or incorrect following of instructions...that means u didnt hold the buttons for the right times that it said...or u didnt release a button
7.JUST FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS ONE BY ONE AFTER U LAUNCH QUICKPWN!!!

    enjoy

like all of you i had the same problem.....omg this thing does not work....but then i realised that i was only clicking the arrow...and i didnt follow what it said on the screen....i like changed around my usb conection like 2314234 times.....but when i followed the instructions...all worked

Should mention also that you may have to change settings to show hidden files.

I'm on Vista and had to do both of those things. Maybe your folder settings already had show hidden files checked. Took me quite a lot of head scratching to figure out why the file wouldnt show up when I used quickpwn.
