ok so i hit new posts and some threads even from back in 07 are coming up.

and guess who's starting them? The "unregistered and Guest" accounts.

well, i dont know what goes on when getting one of those accounts, but i hope they have to read the rules.

Im sorry to write this fairly pointless thread but it is fairly annoying and needs to be adressed.

we dont want to have to close old threads so they cant be bumped, so we need to stop this epic bumping.

its annoying, and usually their replies are pointless.

So, i have wrote a poll.

Are the unregistered and guest accounts bad for the Multi Touch Fans Community.

    Please vote above

    Thanks

The unregsitered and guest posting system is under trial. If it is seen to be having a negative effect on the community it may be changed with additional rules to make it more restrictive (e.g. stronger word/spam filter, no image posting, posting to active threads only) or even pulled completely.

In the mean time please bear with us and help us out by reporting any spam/bumped or other posts that are against the site rules.

    Thank you.

thanks for the quick reply studangerous.
i do like what you are doing with the site,
and i admit it is a great idea, and promotes more users, and more information generating through the site. With the right rules and restrictions it could work. in the meantime we will wait it out . But not for long. Is there any estimated time when we will see some kind of restrictions taking place? in other words. how much longer until something happens? lol sorry its a bit frustrating.
For the moment, my opinion is. Turn it Off, shut down all the Unregistered and Guest accounts, until the rules and restrictions are revised, then if deemed appropriate, enabled again.

thanks for all your hard work and dedication
    it is muchly appreciated

MAC address or IP ban may be used in this case...

I think that the new users all new users and guests and unregisters should have to read the rules then take a 10 step quiz. Seriously...

BTW I think I sometimes post as unregistered, because go to another site but put stay logged in and when I am back, i'm not logged in. But I didn't bump
