GTAmario's painless n00b friendly guide to DVD ripping and transcoding

    What you will need:

    DVDdecrypter

    Handbrake

    A DVD and a DVD Drive

    STEP 1.

    Install both programs.

    Insert the DVD.

    Open DVDdecrypter.

    If it says "Possible RCE protection found", then select the code on the box/case

    Go to Tools->Settings->IFO Mode

    Go to File Splitting and select "None"

    Close Settings.

    *For Episodic DVD's only - i.e. TV Shows*

    Go to Mode and select IFO

    Go through the VTS_XX files and select the first one that matches the approximate runtime of an episode.

    Click on the Folder Icon besides "Select a destination and
    Click This: Capture6.PNG

    Select where you want the rip placed on your drive.

    Then click this:

    It will start ripping.

    STEP 2.

    Once the rip is done, open Handbrake.

    Go to Source and click Video File

    Go to Presets and select iPhone & iPod Touch

    Go to "Destination" and select where you want the transcoded copy placed.

    Go to "Output Settings"

    Make sure all looks like the picture

    Click "Add To Queue" (For multiple files, repeat process as desired)

    Click "Start"

    Wait for it to finish

    STEP 3.

    Open the destination of the transcode(s)

    Open iTunes

    Plug in your iDevice

    Go to Movies

    Drag and drop the movie to iTunes.

    Done!

    Why do you need to use DVDdecrypter?

    But I've always used Handbrake to rip.

    Couldn't you use any DVD ripper instead?

    I prefer DVDdecrypter.

    And with dvddecrypter you don't need the disk present when you transcode

    But Handbrake is Mac compatible

    LOOL i just searched for something LIKE THIS. BUt i wasnt expecting it here on an ipodtouchsite xD
