Hello Everybody. I am the proud owner of a new iPod Touch 3G 64GB model. I bought it thinking that it would be a cool mp3 player, but I was pleasantly surprised when I found out I could "jailbreak" it and access the operating system which is Unix based. I have been involved with Unix and Linux Support and Troubleshooting plus a little bit of development for nearly 30 years and I was extremely happy to finally own a hand held device with which I can access my various systems via a terminal window, not to mention X11 and GCC and all that good stuff. Gawk! Nmap! I am so happy!

I have managed to "brick" the device about four times already, but now I think I have it sussed out to a certain extent.

Does anyone know of public ftp servers containing iphoneos-arm.deb repositories, preferably open source. Does anyone know if there is a working implementaion of the Linux 2.6.x kernel for the iPod touch?

    So many questions!

I hope I have time to raise them all...

    Welcome..
And try not to use the word "bricked" here.
Some users don't take it that well.
