    Just introducing myself here.

I just bought an iPod Touch 8GB 2G two days ago, and I'm very happy with it.
I'm upgrading from a third generation Nano silver 4GB.

As with all 2G iPod Touch users, I'm waiting for the Chronic DevTeam to come up with a jailbreak for our new device.

I'm very upset about the prices of cases for the iPod Touch though.
I bought a simple acrylic one for $30!
I was not going to spend $30 for a silicone one either, so I went with the acrylic.
    At least it's protected now.

Haha, yeah I assumed it would be a better choice over silicone.
I was going to buy one online, but I wanted to pick up everything on the same day.
I also did not want to even open the box the iPod was in, because I didn't want to scratch the back of it.
So, if I didn't get a case that day, I would not have been able to enjoy my iPod right away.
I went to Target, Best Buy, and Circuit City to compare prices on cases.
Sure enough, they all had the expensive price for flimsy cases.
I bought the iPod at Best Buy, and bought the acrylic case at Circuit City.
Ultimately, spent about $300 that day, because I also bought a $15 iTunes card to buy some apps.

Yeah cases at Best Buy or other similar stores are always overpriced --- it's outrageous

    Exactly.
The same case or material for another model of an iPod is substantially cheaper than the touch's.

It just really pisses me off that even third-party companies are trying to capitalize on it.

I would leave it naked, but including my touch, I am an owner of 4 ipods.
All three before my touch have been naked, and I just hate how the metallic back gets scratched.
I decided with the touch I would keep it clean, and get a case for it right away.
