Hey i tried greenpois0n's timed instructions, and it put my iPod into DFU mode. Instead of saying "ready to jailbreak", it tells me to try again, thinking my iPod isn't in DFU mode.

I've also tried putting it in DFU mode before running greenp0ison, that didn't work either.

    any help would be appreciated.

If its 8gb, it is not a 3g, therefore you cannot jailbreak yet.

If it's 8gig, it wont work. Second, maybe you did not turn off your ipod by holding the sleep button until the slide to turn off appears on the screen. then you turn off prior to starting the DFU mode process.

Unless your device isn't supported, Jailbreaking should work, unless it was something you did wrong. Until now, I have never jailbroken a device before, I've never even had a iPod touch before, and I've successfully jailbroken my 4G THREE times without error. Dunno why people make it so complicated. Follow the directions. Not trying to be mean.

EDIT: Like everyone stated, your device isn't supported yet.

Why does the amount of gigs make a difference?
