I have been using this converter for the longest time, i have no idea why it's free, but it's a great converter for any ipod, it even has a window in the beginning where you pick what ipod you have and it automatically sets all the settings correctly, (so you don't have to go search for the ipod specs) it's called videora, and it's GREAT!!!

    Site:
    http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/iPod/

    Download:

    Cheers,
    Ben.

P.S. post here if you like it.

Link works fine for me. There are lots of mirror sites if you search. It's a free download.

Sounds like an interesting do it all solution.

I still use a more complicated solution which I think will provide me better quality for the file size. But I might have to give this one a try.

    Handbrake

This software takes for ever and it has crash my system 3 times now..
I have had similar issues with software from this company to do the same on psp, it works some times, but is not to reliable..

I've been trying to use handbrake, seems more stable, takes less time, has not crash my system (BUT) I don't know if I have a wrong setting but the final video .m4v is not playable in itunes, I'm using the option to encode on H.264 (ipod), I haven't try to encode in H.254 option only, since the "ipod" one hasn't work for me..

I'll let you guys know when I do.. but if it works this looks much stable and faster then videora.
