I have that Orange Gadgets 360 GPS add-on. I use it with GPSSerial Hook, found in Cydia, for Apple Store gps apps. Not all apps work, but more are being added. That work is happening, as we speak.

The Orange Gadgets GPS is a strong receiver. It has to have the battery fully charged first. The USB adapter is useable off a 12VDC adapter or computer USB.

It is necessary to plug it in the iPod Touch 2G, with the iPod Touch 2G turned OFF.

At least, that has been my experience.

The xGPS software available at Cydia is excellent. I use it with the xGPS Pro theme.

The Apple Store gps aps I have found work well, so far, are GPS Compass Tent Finder, and Altitude USA. I find the altitude readings in Altitude USA are highly accurate.

xGPS allows downloading the maps and zoon level you like.

xGPS and GPSSerial Hook are found in Cydia.

I haven't tried the other apps you mention. I do like to check out stuff.

I am eager to see what xGPS will release in the Apple Store soon.

The GPS360 is purchased direct only, as far as I know.

There is a forum, specifically for xGPS that recommends the GPS360 here.

I am not going to purchase that other software.

Maybe someone in that forum has used it, if no one shows up here.

I think other modules are discussed there, as well, some giving problems.

If you want to wait and see what happens in September, that might be a good idea.

There is a lot of speculation about the next version Touch. It might even have GPS.

I hope so. It is a good locator for so many of the apps.
