GPS on 3G without sim card?

    Yes you can. All iPhones 3G and up have a GPS chip in them. So as long as you get an application from the AppStore it will work. Don't spend your money on the cheap WiFi ones because they do not supports the chip. I would recomend getting either TomTom or Navigon. They might be a little expensive but they are definately worth it because they support everything and do not need Wifi. I like TomTom better and would recomend it too instead of Navigon. But the choice is yours. Sometimes depending on the area it may lose signal but so far I haven't experienced anything major of that sort. It even finds signal faster than my car GPS

    What version is it? I would assume it's legit from the AppStore too. Anyway I haven't had much experience with Navigon since I didn't use it that much but it should work. I would say try and see if it's the same in TomTom, but it is $50. If not maybe your GPS chip is defect. Is this an iPhone or iPod btw?

    Yes you can. You won't be able to see the map, but it will determine your location.
