Ok, so, I want to get a GPS for my iPod Touch (NOT iPHONE) but I dont want to have it cover the whole US. I just want Florida and idc about the rest of the world. I don't have much more space on my iPod so I can't take a full GPS. I know the iPods can use a gps (my friend uses the Tom Tom one) so I would love it if someone can find me something like this or I can be able to delete the rest of the maps aside from florida. I can spend around $50 for something like this so if it is over it, I will still love to hear it too so I can make a point to get to.
    Thanks!

That would be a good idea, it would save a lot of disk space.

maybe you would be able to ssh into the app after it was bought and manually delete some of the map data, unless it is one big file, or if it is encrypted or hard to figure out.

The problem is, I'm going to have to clear atleast a gig of disk space to get the file onto it. Maybe there is some way to edit the app while still on the computer.

Removing maps is a very simple process.

Well you could purchase the app on itunes and for a day or so not sync music, then install it and edit it through SSH, then sync all of your stuff back, and your good.

Before I buy a tom tom, has anyone attempted this before? I dont want to blow $50+ on something I dont want to even use because of the space.

Nope, I haven't done it, maybe you could try it on your friends bought TomTom app and backup all the stuff to see if it works. Is the friend you mentioned before jailbroken?
