Is there any GPS application out there like tomtom or miomap which can be used on the iphone3g without having to take up bandwidth ?

    Cheers.

You can try OfflineMaps, but it's kind of a hassle to get the maps on it and everything. You have to have jailbroken it though. Also, try xGPS, it uses bandwidth though.

I haven't heard that, but it would be nice. Especially one with turn by turn directions. I just looked it up; the most recent article on it is from June, so I wouldn't count on it being any time soon.
Why would you want one that doesn't use web? I'm guessing you have unlimited data.

It's not bad, but I wouldn't use it without unlimited data. It's easy to get carried away. You can check out an app called "ViewEditor" that will shrink the size of web pages so you can save data that way.
