    Hey all,
For some time, I've been trying to use my iPod Touch as a portable GPS unit, simply because my phone has been too picky with onboard maps and the like.

I have a GPS-360 USB unit from Microsoft Streets and Trips that I have confirmed works outside of that program and in other environments, like open-source GPS trackers.

My question is this: has anyone tried to use this type of GPS through the iPod/iPhone using a female-to-female cable that connects the dock to the male USB end of the GPS unit? I want to try this, but cannot acquire any female-to female type cables. I know they exist, but would like to see if anyone else has had this mindset before. I would like to see if this would work with the onboard downloaded maps from xGPS, as that would be the ideal situation...

And yes, I know that Orange Gadgets has their own, sleeker GPS unit, but I'm not dropping $75 before trying this method.

    Thanks!
    -Nate
