Here is a video of the G10's Twin, the Haipad M701-R, except the G10 doesn't have HDMI out or infrared remote, which doesn't upset me too much. The device isn't that bad, honestly. I think it looks worth it's price. The model on this vid has 2gb of internal memory as opposed to 4gb that mine has. Of course expandable microsd as well. For a resistive type screen, it's pretty darn responsive. IMO, worth $140.

And when the devs get 2.2 for it, goldennn.

Just doing a quick, blunt review.

Got it on Monday. Opened it and was surprised by the build quality. I got the plastic model (there is also aluminum), and the plastic is very strong and durable, no flexing. Feels heavy enough to not be cheap, but not too heavy to make it annoying...can easily hold it in one hand.

Charged it up, works perfectly. Connected to my wifi quickly and has 3/3 bars throughout my house. Calibrated the screen. Resistive screen is very sensitive even with the screen protector on. Orientation rotates perfectly from portrait to landscape with maybe a slight second delay. Originally the ipad like "home button" served as a "back" button, but using the Spare Parts app, I was able to change it to an actual home button that navigates back to the home screen, although with a 2 second delay.

Takes about 2-2.5 hours for a full charge that lasts about 7 hrs with wifi constantly on and light gaming (can last much longer without having wifi on the whole time). I don't mind the battery life. I didn't expect long life due to it's size, and it's price, etc.

Market works perfectly, installs apps almost instantly. I know on iOS it takes a lil bit, but on Android it's literally a second or two and it's installed. Many have had problems with these cheap tablets with the market not working. Mine works great, no problems there.

Camera is surprisingly good quality. It's rated at 1.3MP, and it takes decent shots even in dim lighting. Only negative side is that it only has a front facing camera, so it would only really be useful in Skype, or taking pictures of yourself. I don't use the camera anyway.

Speakers are nice and loud, sound quality is great. Very user friendly (not as much as iOS). Android was easy to adapt to. And I find it as fun as iOS interface. Installed Skyfire 3.0 and Youtube. Even though many claim Android 2.1 cant play flash or flash videos, with Skyfire, it works and on Youtube all videos seem to run, so there is obviously a way to bypass that.

Have only 4GB of internal space, but it seems to take A LOT of apps without taking a lot of space. I've downloaded about 15 apps (some large, some small) and still have plenty of space. Have my 8gb microSD ready for when I need it.

Browser works great. Doesn't show the "mobile" version of websites, it actually shows full size sites as you would see on a PC. Doesn't have pinch to zoom but does have a + and - bar on the bottom of the screen that works just as well. DOES have double tap to zoom.

Overall, I love it. For paying $140, I think it's quite a device. For anyone interested in having a cheap, entry level tablet that runs Android, go this route. I promise you. The quality of this thing is immaculate for what you're paying. It's not the fastest tablet at 256mb of ram, but it's sufficient, and it gets the job done. Also got to the US from China in 6 days with $10 express shipping.

I've attached a few crappy pics that I just took with my iPod. Sorry about the quality. Just wanted to give you a quick look. As you can see the silicone case I have is for a different brand tablet, so the fit isn't perfect. :) Thanks for reading.

And sorry Candice for hijacking your thread, I thought I was posting this in my G10 topic.

Nice quick look. Looks like it's a quality device. :)

I noticed that you're still using the stock homescreen on that one? Try LauncherPro. It's much smoother than the stock homescreen. If you can get Market on there, you can download it straight from the Market.

By the way, was the Market preloaded, or did you have to sideload it?

It is pretty good quality for a cheap tablet, I have to admit.

I'll check out launcherpro, never heard of it, so I'm interested, and yes it's the stock homescreen.

And the market came with the device. The only thing I had to sideload was YouTube as it didn't come with it.

The only complaint I have, which is really minor is after unplugging the device after a full charge it drops down to 90% quite quickly. It's an odd thing, but many people at the Droid forums experience the same thing with these tablets. I think they come with a cheap underpowered charger, and I am probably going to buy a better one down the road. I think that's the reason why it seems to drop 10% quickly after unplugging. It's almost not giving it a full charge. That or the batteries these things come with are just cheap, which is probably another reason why.

I love the Android operating system though. Although I think I like Apple better for it's ease and intuitive use...all in all this tablet is simply fun.

I installed LauncherPro but deleted it because it was made for an Android Phone it seemed. It had contacts, a dialpad, etc along with it...and it became annoying. However I loved the setup and the way the icons popped onto the screen with a simple click instead of a slide. I'm looking for other home screen alternatives.

You could change those contacts and dial pads in LauncherPro by holding your finger down on them. You may also add your own icons, which is a great feature in my opinions.

ADWLauncher is another good alternative if you'd like to take a look at it. You can change the dock icons (that's what they're called, I believe) by dragging and dropping other icons from the app drawer.

Zeam Launcher is another one to check out. It's a stripped down almost bare bones light weight launcher. I'm pretty sure it's based from ADW source, just stripped down to focus more on performance.

Thanks bahamut for the suggestions, and for the info on correcting LauncherPro, because I really liked that setup, it was not only more appealing but quick...oh, and I couldn't find ADWLauncher in the market, dunno why. But I found a bunch of ADW themes, which I obviously cant use without the launcher, maybe I'll search for the apk.

jimbeam, I appreciate the suggestion as well...I'll check that one out.

Love this little tablet. Getting warmed up to Android.

slamdunk, I must of paid a lot more than I did then, cuz I love this thing. ;P

I bet someone with an iPad or Galaxy would do nothing but make fun of it, but for paying $140 it does a whole bunch and more. Thinking about rooting. :D

Just cant wait for a solid version of 2.2 for this thing. They have a crappy beta version, but so many people were complaining that it's no where near ready.

Another cool thing is you can charge it via the charging port, or out of one of the 2 mini usb ports on the bottom of the device. Which also means I can mount it via USB to add files, or I can write files to my SD and mount the card. I just ordered a US charger for it, because I was sick of using the stupid European charger with the bulky adapter.

Sorry about me ranting. Just excited about this thing.
