    It has been open source since day one. I've had the source for over 6 months now.

    Its only now been open up to the public, and thats a damn old source

    It would be incredibly cool if hackers got Android running on the iPhone platform. However, if this were to ever happen it would take quite some time.

    someone must develop a version of Android for the iphone/ipod touch.

    Android has always been open source; this made the hype build even more. Oh and what you just said was like saying "I wouldn't mind them making Windows mobile for the iPhone" LOL Doesn't sound goo does it

    Its always been open source but the source has never been available until now.
