AppleInsier have a very interesting article about the upcoming app store, focusing on the iTunes side of things and the process of uploading an app for developers.

However, one thing I found particularly interesting was the currency conversion rates on the app store. The below table illustrates this:

As you can see, the conversion rates appear to be excellent. From a UK perspective, we usually get shafted by Apple and other US based companies; however Apple seem to have seen the error of their ways. So apps announced to be $10, will only cost us £6 (Still slightly higher than the conversion rate, but far better than I was expecting).

Yes, this is good. Have you ever thought about how much money these developers are going to make? They'll make $14 on each purchase of a $19.99 application, that's some good money in their pockets! Also, even with Apple only receiving 30% of each sale, they're also going to have some money in their pockets.

Everyone wins! You get cool apps, the developers gets good money, and Apple gets good money too which helps for future cool products from them

Jesus, Australia is getting shafted! The convertion on that table works out as 76c in the dollar .... But the exchange rate at the moment is about 93c!!

Makes me think that the iPhone will be a little more than $220 here ...
