    Hey guys!
School is about to start. So I wanted to start a giant list of applications that are good for students. Please post your recommendations and a brief description. Some of my favourite apps for school are:

    - dictionary (american heritage fourth edition): This is an awesome OFFLINE dictionary with all english words and proper pronunciation

    - collins: french-english, english-french dictionary that is offline. great for french class!

-unit converters: great for math classes. can come in hand any time. preferably offline

-language translators: amazing when your taking a 2nd language at school! unfortunately, all off these require wifi.

-quickoffice: one of my favourite! this app lets you transfer your ms word documents between your computer and ipod letting you do your work anywhere you are!

    Organization
-To Do's (find a free one cause this one is too much and self-explanitory)
-I like using the Calendar app that comes on the ipt, I already use Google's calendar and they can sync up so whenever I edit one, the other's changed too.
-Evernote (free) supports text, photo, and voice notes, and syncs to an online account
-wikipedia (free) search the site. It's awesome.
    -dictionary.com (free) also very useful.
-myHomework (free) lets you keep entries of homework and when they're due.
    -convert (0.99) unit calculator

    Entertainment:
    -Facebook- must have fo sho.
    -Pandora
    -Shazam
    -Remote

Please feel free to post your favourites!

    Thanks!

Well I mean a free dictionary like the free app called Dictionary! or WordWeb Dictionary. All free and I'm pretty sure they work offline.

Mathemagician: A simple, easy to use math study and reference guide.

Also, there are many periodic table apps that have their pros and cons

    Theres graphingcalc, and math solver.

Graphing calculator, is of course just a graphing calcualator. It works pretty well, considering its only 2$ or 3$ and it DOES graph and stuff like that. Its downfall is the actual calculator UI; its not very good looking. However, its functional.

Math solver, is a program that solves algebraic equations. It shows you the values, and what math you can do to solve for x, y, etc.

I was wondering if anyone had any good apps for homework that would sync with my mac so i dont have to go typing all my assignments on my ipod? Preferably something with push notifications when things are due or are due soon.
