Why not go through Netflix's genre section for Anime? Unless you don't plan on just using Netflix, they tend not to have the complete series sometimes. Regardless, here's a few: D. Gray Man Claymore Full Metal Panic Full Metal Panic: Fumoffu Samurai Champloo Negima (lol) Afro Samurai (lol, Samuel L. Jackson as a voice actor). The Sacred Blacksmith Air Gear Those are just a few I know are on Netflix, but if you want to take a step out of Netflix: Fate Zero (Only subbed but a great quality anime) Eureka 7 Blue Exorcist (Might be on Netflix, unsure) ...Fairy Tail (barely mentioned, but entertaining if you can stand it).
The fillers are really to blame for that but yea the boondocks, if youre talking about from adult swim thats not an anime, just a cartoon. But i camt believe you havent watched deathnote what are you doing reading this go on...watch it
I only really considered Afro Samurai out of all those, checked out a review for Negima....disappointing considering the main character's first name is my last.
Don't forget to watch full metal alchemist the brotherhood version after your done with the first one
I wouldn't rely too much in reviews. Sometimes it's better to just jump in, I've found some of the most interesting shows that way, as well as a few I couldn't make it through. Regardless, all you have to lose is time.
Code Geass is Amazing! Claymore is kinda graphic and gorey but its very good also (comparable to full metal) A wannabe anime is Avatar: The Legend of Korra and is pretty good too
