    I'm not sure I would draw the same conclusion as the title implies. Apple probably want to optimize the chip for their specific use-cases. Developing it in-house makes sense in that case, if they have the know-how. It does not necessarily mean that they are doing it to distance themselves from Samsung, which they still depend on regardless.
