Hi I know this has been posted many times but Im wondering if you can help me

My 7 year old brother stole my ipod and he was using it and he chucked it cause he got angry and now there is a big crack on the glass screen part, the touch screen still works

I bought it in november 2007 and I bought it at comet (UK shop) and I also bought a 2 year warranty for it

im wondering will this be covered, obviously im not gonna say that my brother chucked it but im gonna think of another excuse till then

Cracked screens aren't covered, no matter what reason you give.

If you bought 2 year warranty, would that be November 2009 that it expires? Apple, Doesn't cover accidently damage.

What my friend did, was 'break' the head phone jack. What he did was removing the headphones and inserting it back in, eventually the head phone jack stopped working. He sent it in saing that the iPod wasn't cracked and they gave him a new refurbish one.

yea but when I bought it theres a 1 year warranty by default when you buy it, then I bought the 2 year extended warranty so it should end by November 2010

is the extended warranty with comet or apple

Either way, accidents aren't covered. Only things you have no control over are covered. Like, faulty battery, faulty screen, faulty headphone jack etc. But cracked screens, water damage etc aren't covered.

if it is not an apple warranty,it will say so, then it is a comet one.
in which case maybe they will cover it as a defect, if say it cracke dbecause you had it in your pocket nice and warm in the house then you went outside on a really cold day a\ like -20c /
and the temp change cracked it.?

Isn't that considered fraud if you lie to Apple or Comet or whatever to get a repair?

I was speaking to others, as for a reason that a "defect" may be reason for replacement.

'richardarkless' 's case is lost already since he publicly stated the reason for his to be broken.

Yes, it's consumer fraud. Which is illegal.
