    Hi All,
I want to give my Itouch 2G 8GB to my niece. However, after restoring it, have a few questions. My niece does not live with me but I'd like to start her off with some music or movies but I want the Itouch under her own account. Since she is visiting, she doesn't have a computer of her own and I want to get her all setup prior to leaving my home.

Can we create a new ITunes account for her on one of my computers, load up the old ITouch with music, movies she'd like to have (The music is not from Itunes nor are the movies)and ensure the ITouch is hers and not related to my old account in any way?

Read a number of posts but am getting just that much more confused.

    Thanks,
    Confused Father

    Thanks Sky,
That's the thing that baffles me. If we log her in to her own itunes account, with the cleaned out itouch I want to give her, why does it seems the itouch is tied to the computer if we don't buy anything from the itunes site but only want to load up local music and movies. Still scratching my head.

    In fact, No Confused Father,

I think that if you choose to create a new account for your niece,
u can use the same itunes that you are already using
just log out and create a new account under her name

i dont THINK the music and movies would be deleted cause it's NOT from iTunes

If you did get all your music and movies from iTunes, then i think it would be deleted but, since you're not, i dont think you would have to worry,

Also if you sync her ipod to your computer,
be sure to check the Settings
    to "Manually add content"

with this you can just drag the content (movies, apps, and music)
    into her iPod touch,
and then when she goes home she can just drag the music she wants from her library to her ipod touch, without having to delete the preexisting music

so I really hope this works out for you folks
