iTunes has in introduced a new feature that allows you to send an App Store app as a gift.

The drop down menu on each page allows t-you to gift a particular app to another iTunes account in the same country via email address. A great little feature that will no doubt increase Apple's revenues as both sites use the feature to give apps as prizes and developers are able to overcome the 50 promo code limitation for promoting their apps.

Pretty cool, I guess. But I wonder why it has to be in the same country..

I suppose it's due to countrywide laws that govern each country's version of the App Store and the fact that some apps are region specific.

    This will bring shameless beggars

I can just see it clearly in my eyes!
More spam threads consisting of shameless beggars asking for specific apps to be gifted to them!
The onslaught people looking for free games trailing on reviews.
We need regulations on those naow!

On the brighter note, if you are feeling as kind to do so, I can see one person gifting his friend on the go to play a multiplayer session right on the spot they meet.

It can be a pain to convince your friend to get a game just for multiplayer especially without a demo.

We're already tight on begging and soliciting, so any threads/posts begging for apps to be gifted will be dealt with appropriately.
