GIMP Question

    Can GIMP open psd files?

    I looked around and can't find the answer

    I don't think so, PSD = Photoshop Document, meaning only for Photoshop.
    But if you want you can send me the .PSD and i can open it up and save it as JPG then give it to you.

    i dont think so because .psd is made 4 photoshop. u could always try though

    Okay, nevermind then. I was going to try out GIMP..b/c Photoshop slows down my computer. And I really need to open psd'd

    Oh well, back to Paint.net

    Just to confirm because the other users were unsure, you can't open a .psd file in Gimp.

    I am sure, just wasn't sure if there's was an UNOFFICIAL way of doing (other program, plug-in, ect...)

    What is Paint.net going to do for your psd openning problem. I don't understand how it is better than gimp. Just wondering, because it didn't make much sense to me.
