I thought this might've been a problem with 1.1.1 since I've heard everyone with 1.1.4 can play them fine, but when I try to view a .gif on Safari using 1.1.4 it only shows a single frame. Should I try to return my iPod or what? I seem to be the only one with this problem. By the way some .gifs load, but only the really tiny ones.

No, .gifs don't work on any firmware, big or small, as far as I'm aware.

I don't think it's neccessarily a problem, as much as a feature that wasn't included and/or supported by the iPod.

I'm sure there has to be a way to view them, but I'm not aware of it.

That's what I mean, only really small .gifs work. The PSP can load bigger ones fine and it's half as powerful.

Well i have seen some avatars on this site (100x100) work, while others don't. So maybe it's filesize being stored in the cache has a maximum?

Yeah 100 x 100 works, seems like anything bigger than a forum .gif won't load.
