EDIT: I don't need to resizse a gif dimensions. I got that working (I'm being stupid today) but is there way to make the image a smaller file size but keep everything else the same?

If you upload it to Photobucket, go to it and then click the resize button at the top and click avatar.

If you do a google search for "free online .gif optimizer" you should be able to find something.

well the thing is I have a small, fitting gif image that I want to use as my avatar, but I keep getting a "too big" message. the problem is, its pixel art, which means even the slightest resize I did caused it to look horrible. is there a way to compress it but still use it?

although I do like my current avatar.
