    Ok, so this will be the last thread until gFinder's release. gFinder will have a built in system to read the extensions of files, and place icons and descriptions accordingly. i've worked it out to read a property list and parse the items in it. what i need from you fellows is to make me up or retrieve some icons for different file types, and make a property list in the following format that will tell the details about the extension and such.

    Extensions.plist
    Code:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple Computer//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
    <plist version="1.0">
    <dict>
    	<key>FileExtensions</key>
    	<array>
    		<dict>
    			<key>Extension</key>
    			<string>.zip</string>
    			<key>Image</key>
    			<string>Images/Cell_Zip.png</string>
    			<key>Description</key>
    			<string>ZIP Archive File</string>
    		</dict>
    		<dict>
    			<key>Extension</key>
    			<string>.exe</string>
    			<key>Image</key>
    			<string>Images/Cell_Exe.png</string>
    			<key>Description</key>
    			<string>Windows Application</string>
    		</dict>
    	</array>
    </dict>
    </plist>
    the extension is the extension of the file, Image HAS to be "Images/YOURIMAGE". the description will show up in the cell in blue. it shouldn't be very long. here is an example of the zip file being displayed after gfinder has read the property list.

    IMG_0007.jpg

    the icons should be able to fit about the same size as the icons below. i believe the zip icon is 60x60. that will probably do just fine.

    **The main reason for doing this is so that i can hopefully implement an extension manager in gfinder, and extensions can be added both for personal use by users or in updates without changing the actual code.

    Thanks guys, and feel free to ask questions.
