My iphone 4 fell in water but I had pulled it out immediately.

The indicators for water damage are white but the phone wont turn on.

I had opened the back cover once but never gone any further than that - there are scratches inside the back cover.

Does opening the back cover void the warranty? Because apart from that, I've cleaned up my iphone, removing most if not all traces of water damage.

    thank you

Technically yes, although if it looks like you never did you may get away with it.

I believe it does not. As far as I know, the only way to void the warranty is to peel off any stickers.

    ^He may be right.

as far as I know the actual warranty sticker is somewhere under the battery.

    Try.

There is NO proof whatsoever of it being in water.

Only one thing i can say about litimus paper not activating...

    Daaaaammmmn!

the thing is, when you open the back cover, it has a little sticker coming out from under the battery going "Authorized personnel only" which makes me think simply opening the back cover wont void warranty.

    Haha! Yeah :L

It was plugged in when it happened LOL.

    ZOMG is your cable OK?

If you did'nt notice, those cables are like 1/4 the price of the phone itself.

Nah the cable is fine :L And I have like six more at home.

This is interesting guys - the LED light wouldnt turn off before, and now after i just called tech support and put it on charge - the phone turned on, LED light went off. Seemingly it burns out in twenty - thirty hours.

I don't think just opening a cover void the warranty. I would suggest you to go for the replacement and directly talk with them so you will get to know the actual scenario.
