Yes i know. And ive had the apps since the original repo was released, and even before there was a repo for it.

All im trying to say is that the title is kinda misleading. Cause many people, including myself, will click in the title that looks like it will solve the problem for real, but its actually an old way for the older firmwares.

Edit: thank you for whoever changed the title.

My Location and Hybrid view are added to maps (essentially Maps had a major overhaul)

Safari obviously adds the web clip feature (but that is presumably only compatible with 1.1.3 - since it requires the home screen editing)

Also, apparently the Mail in 1.1.3 natively supports Gmail IMAP (instead of having to make a custom mailbox)...

Just evidence that these apps are indeed updated... The extent of the updating varies from app to app, i am sure....

I agree. You are NOT getting the $20 app pack free, but the previous version.

Ok first of all, the my location feature, given the fact that the iPod touch only works with wifi as opposed to the iphone's compatibility with the at&t network the my location is only really useful for iphone users who could connect to the internet from pretty much anywhere. Hybrid view, also a kind of cool new feature, but not drastic enough to be worth $20. Natively supporting Gmail IMAP is simply a convenience for the less intelligent user, but I'm sure all of the people on this forum, smart enough to jailbreak and mod their ipods are capable of adding a custom mailbox.

In Steve Job's keynote this morning he states that Apple completely redefined the Maps UI, totally not true, it looks exactly the same. The majority of the updates to the apps are simply conveniences and nuances that don't really matter enough to go through the hassle of upgrading to a NON-JAILBROKEN firmware and having to deal with this other crap. Again, I'm just saying that this is an easy way to get the 5 apps for free, for now, if you don't want to update until the jailbreak is released.

That is your opinion. Personally i would find the new maps app very useful. But i dont want to lose all of my apps.

Exactly, another point, one of the main points i was trying to get across is that why sacrifice all of the other apps you already have for 5? Said apps that aren't even really supposed to go with iPod Touch. They were originally designed to work with iPhone predicated on the fact that iPhone users get internet anywhere. All Apple did was port the apps to the iTouch to make a few extra bucks.

4 out of the 5 applications (everything but notes) works by transmitting data over the internet. Let's say you're somewhere without a hotspot or router in range? All 4 of those apps become useless
