You can install Google Now on your Android device right now, assuming you're on an AOSP ICS ROM (Nexus owners, you're pretty much already set). Here's the directions, stolen borrowed from XDA. Here's the Velvet apk. If installing fails, try moving it to system/app, and maybe rename it if the move alone doesn't work. http://goo.gl/k1FtI
Bumping because of a question. Will this work on a Kindle Fire with Jelly Bean flashed to it? I know it doesn't have a mic but I can just plug my Apple headphones in.
I would assume as long as the ROM supports microphone input. Just backup and try for yourself, I'd say.
Google Now is included by default in Jellybean. This package shouldn't be necessary if you're already running Jellybean.
I wouldn't know. But if Google Now is broken in Jellybean ROMs then that's another story, this won't help period. If it's just not included because no one wanted to include it, then it should be on the Play Store, regardless. Not 100% sure though.
