The German police in Göttingen investigates against 600 private persons that have used a commercial unlock service to remove the SIM lock of their cellphones. According to the description it sounds like a software unlock like ultrasnow was used. Before in Augsburg a person was charged for unlocking his phone and a judge made him pay 600 euro fine for it.
