Let me make this short and painless, every time I shut off my iPod Touch (2G) and turn it back on, it's putting me into restore mode. It was fun the first couple of times, I just booted it out with Chris' RedTool, but now it's just plain annoying. So here's a thread/discussion as to what might possibly be causing this and any sort of a solution short of restoring/DFU.
Not turning it off isn't an option either because if my iPod crashes I go into the recov screen on bootup, so don't be the funny guy.

So gentlemen, what the hell could possibly be causing this?

No he isn't on the teathered. On the teathered the screen just turned up black just plain black. My solution (sorry to say) DFU mode, restore to fresh firmware file, jailbreak again at redsn0w.com

Try a NOR-only jailbreak with RedTool.
