I have iTunes 8.0 and I also get my music from *******s, Limewire, etc. But I have a question....will Apple find out that I download free music if I use Genius Bar? Doesn't Genius Bar send information about my Music Library to them?

Thanks in advance to whoever answers.

No. It sends it to a database. They already have whats in your library. Anyways it makes the playlists off of other songs that are like it. They wont see you got it from limewire.

    So no.

but really, are they going to message or do whatever they would to to every person they find that used limewire/*******s? im guessing atleast 90% of the people out there get their music that way.
i really dont think they want to know or care about that. the database is to make itself smarter with what songs are like what, giving it the name "genius".

    right?

There is no way to track exactly where a non DRM mp3 comes from, only maybe what it was encoded with. Some mp3 groups put their scene tags in mp3s in comment tags and encoded by tags... But I don't think genius looks there.
